Psalm 82:1 “God presides in the great assembly; He gives judgment among the ‘gods’…”

Victory #1   Illinois girls deserve to be protected

Hope Clinic, the Midwest ’s largest late-term abortion mill where no parental consent is necessary, does not make better parents than you do. The ACLU (which is perpetuating a lawsuit to challenge the Parental Notification Act) and Hope Clinic lost a battle yesterday. Our ministry during 17 years of daily witnessing has seen outrageous parental rights’ abuses at the hands of the abortionist and staff in Granite City , Illinois . Hope Clinic has been a sexual predator’s “paradise” far too long as sexual abuse involving minors goes unreported and predators bring minors across state lines to “get rid of any evidence.” It’s time to protect our children from secret abortions and sexual crimes.

Illinois FOCA is dead for this session and the Illinois ' Parental Notification Law is one step closer to being implemented!

Illinois families had a tremendous victory today when Circuit Court Judge Daniel A. Riley dismissed the ACLU's legal challenge of the 1995 Illinois Parental Notification Act. Unfortunately, the judge imposed a stay of his decision for 60 days to allow the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) time to file an appeal.

Please keep this parental rights case in your prayers.

"Today's ruling represents a great step toward ending underage secret abortions in Illinois . This written decision represents the first time an Illinois court has upheld the Parental Notice Act of 1995 against the ACLU's challenge," said Peter Breen, executive director and legal counsel at the Thomas More Society. "We look forward to the day that abortion providers are made to respect the rights of parents to know before their daughters are taken for abortions."

We are very grateful for our friends at the Thomas More Society who filed an amicus brief in this case.  We have for far too long held up many a devastated mother who was threatened with arrest if she tried to intervene in her daughter’s abortion, not so much as to stop the procedure and save a grandchild, but to be with her minor daughter during this emotional and difficult time.

Victory #2 HB6205 “FOCA” IS DEAD!

Small Victories lobbied in Springfield two weeks ago against HB 6205, hoping this bill would die. Praise God it has! But we cannot let our guard down, because it could potentially come back in the fall or even next year. Now is not the time to be shrinking back; we must go full throttle against this evil bill in prayer, fasting, and footwork. This is a call to persevere.

FOCA Is Dead,... for now.

Another huge victory for unborn babies in Illinois, HB 6205 -- also known as Illinois FOCA -- failed to advance in time for a vote in the House and was sent back to the House Rules Committee, rendering it dead for this session.

HB 6205 would have increased taxpayer funded abortions through Medicaid; eliminated the Abortion Right of Conscience Act; and mandated comprehensive sex education for every student in Illinois public schools -- kindergarten through 12. This only promotes minors to be promiscuous, and the end result ends up at the abortion mill.

-Section 25 of HB 6205 gives doctors unprecedented liability protections in performing abortions. It exempts doctors who perform abortions from the same liability standards that apply to every other medical procedure. This means if a women suffers a botched abortion (and we have witnessed many medical complications at this abortion mill in particular), the abortionist will not be held accountable. He cannot even be sued. Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous?

-Liability laws exist to protect patients. To carve out a special exception for doctors performing abortions puts any woman who receives an abortion in Illinois at risk.

-This puts women under the age of 20 especially at risk since they are TWICE as likely to have medical complications as women over 25 and have a 150% greater risk of cervical injury than women over 30. This is not good healthcare. If we care about women and their well being, we need to protect them and educate them with vital information that can save lives, preventably.

God is trying to show us mercy once again and is calling His people to repent and sin no more, to turn from their wickedness. Then He can heal our land. Here in Illinois there can be redemption. We must stand on righteousness so the purging of Illinois ’ politics as usual can be removed. House cleaning can begin in the Land of Lincoln . We can remove the stigma of corruption that our state is currently known for and begin to be a “city set on a hill” where truth and justice for all prevail.
