Father’s Day may not be as celebrated as Mother’s Day, but it holds the same sentiment and importance. Especially nowadays, it’s so important to thank those dads committed in raising their children and those who have gone before them.

Understand, anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad. A Dad wakes up in the middle of the night and helps change diapers, comforts a sick child, and protects them during the thunderstorm. A Dad always knows how to fix things, even if it was with duck-tape, several different colors of duck-tape. A Dad is brave and bold and has the strength of a mountain in times when we needed to lean on him. And, a Dad always has deep pockets; he always seems to find a way to provide for his family, and sometimes for others.

Let’s face it, Parenthood is a gamble Dad; you never know how far you’re going to be driven out of your mind. The average Dad has probably thought twice about running away from home, once as a child and once as a husband…thanks for hanging in there.

So, thank you Dad, for having the wisdom of ages and not looking like it. Thanks especially for loving your wife, the mother of your children. Your caring, virtuous, moral, tender guidance is, and always has been, a beacon that guides the family through the rough seas of this life. Children could not fair near as well without that loving guidance. And because you courageously took on the responsibility and chose to be a Dad, there is safe passage. “Money isn’t everything,” how true those words ring, Dad. As the saying goes, “A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when they are empty”. So, to all the Dads, and especially the Dad in our house, Happy Father’s Day!
