“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” Luke 8:17

 The 10th annual Race for the Cure was getting underway in the Gateway City that was decked out in a sea of pink. Over 63,937 were in attendance. Over 3.3 million dollars was raised, but the truth was not welcomed at this event. We registered and began making our way to the start of the race. As we did, you couldn’t help but notice the camaraderie and passion on many of the faces of those who have survived this devastating disease and those supporters. Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and mothers-to-be marched and pushed wheelchairs with women who were valiantly battling this cancer. It was very humbling to see such bravery in the face of death. This was all the more reason we were asking ourselves, Is the Susan G. Komen foundation racing for a cure? Or racing against it? Why aren’t women being told?

Years ago before the inception of abortion on demand, you never heard of breast cancer or saw it in the epidemic numbers we do now. Is there a link? Women cry and women die. Why does this organization refuse to educate women on ALL their risks with breast cancer? And why aren’t women being told of one of the most preventable causes of breast cancer? That is abortion. Not a miscarriage, but elective abortion.

We worked the crowds in the beautiful, sunny weather God blessed us with. As we made our way through the thick of it we were handing out the brochure “Abortion Raises Breast Cancer Risk” supplied by the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, an international women’s organization that has helped with the research and getting the word out www.abortionbreastcancer.com . It gave out the statistics with good insightful information based on at least eight medical groups that agree breast cancer has a proven link to abortion. Why wouldn’t you want women to know this vital information? Because the incidents of breast cancer might just go down by preventing a proven cause. We can’t leave out the money pit. The Susan G. Komen foundation has raised a lot of money and a lot of that money is going and funding the very same risk factor: ABORTION. They give money to Planned Parenthood. If the truth were known they may lose some of that funding, and making money is what it’s all about.

The race had started after we gave out the last brochures with no problems. We gathered and prayed before we stepped out in faith and I might add “holy boldness”. It was the first time we entered the actual race with our banner which tells the truth. BAM! We were in and as the Lord would have it, we prayed the cameras and the media would pick up on this fact as we marched with the runners. We smiled and waved to the crowds who were at one point applauding until they read the banner. But God is good! The photographers clicked their cameras; some gave us a card stating it would be up on their websites and we waved at the Channel 5 camera above us in a cherry-picker who aimed his lens our way.

Soon we reached the finish line. Praise God, we did it! We hadn’t been tossed out yet. We then proceeded to march down the boulevard still holding onto the banner as participants stared. Only two had negative comments such as, “Keep your politics out of this event,” and another, “Thanks for ruining our day.” We asked, “Don’t you care about women? Don’t you want them to know all their risks with breast cancer?” The irate woman walked away.

As we approached the exit of this gathering, we were confronted by a policeman and fireman. Oh boy, here it comes, we commented. The fireman asked me, “What’s this all about?” I began explaining to him our purpose here and the message on the banner when out of the blue a young blond haired woman stuck her head in our conversation and screamed at me, “I’m an oncologist, that’s a lie!” and ran off. She should of stuck around for the truth.   

“I’m not here selling you a bag of goods. Please do the research yourself. We’re here to let women know there is a link between breast cancer and elective abortion. Why aren’t women being told? Learn for yourself. Go the website and educate yourselves and tell others. You know years ago, the slave owners said Negroes were property and slavery didn’t exist. It took abolitionists and a war to expose the truth.” The police officer moved in closer. The fireman agreed with us.

“You know why that woman got angry? Because the American Medical Association  reneged on the truth years ago when this link was proven, the AMA stood with us and agreed there was a proven link between breast cancer and elective abortion, but when word reached the Komen foundation, pressure was put on this medical group to back off. ‘We don’t want the little people to know.’ They don’t want to lose their funders. Just like most cash cows, they have fallen in love with the cash flow and lost sight of the priorities that first made them fall in love with the crusade.” That’s really unfortunate. Because they are playing with the health of women and women should be told of all possible causes of a life-threatening disease.

We thanked the men and folded up our banner as Daniel had tried reaching us twice on the phone. I picked up. “We need you to do an ultrasound. We have a possible save.” “We’ll be right there. Buy me some time.” We drove a little over the speed limit, but made it back to the abortion mill in the City of Slaughter . It was encouraging to see all the churches and pastors who support our ministry standing in the gap. As a matter of fact, they were making a statement to this town as they lined themselves up on the main thoroughfare to wake the churches and inhabitants up to the dragon in their backyard. Alleluia!

We got to the van and we introduced ourselves to this couple who drove over three hours to this abortion mill. It was hot inside the van, but Lord willing, we got through it. The 21-year-old generator would not kick in. “Get behind me Satan!” I commanded as we used alternate measures to show this couple their 4 week old baby. We rolled the windows down to get a breeze and they watched the ultrasound screen and explained their plight. Praise God, a brother in Christ from Community of Faith was able to pray and witness to this couple until we could get back over the river. After going over resources and follow-up instructions, they hugged us and expressed their gratitude for being shown the love of Jesus Christ by simple, gentle Christians outside this mill. The brother also helped us get some gas money together for them so they could make it back and stay in contact with Community of Faith as they were wanting discipleship. Praise God!

Isn’t it awesome what God can do if we just make ourselves available and listen? Thank you Lord for completing the task you set before us this day. You are magnificent. Thank You for the hearts touched this day and the lives saved.
