This is the harsh reality of what happens outside the abortion mill, ironically titled, “Hope Clinic”, in Granite City, Illinois. Often I refer to it as the “crime scene”, due to its red light business and the kind of element it draws .
Friday: it was pouring cats and dogs outside the abortion mill as we arrived and set up our outreach to the abortion bound. Around 10:00 a.m., a bright red car with Kentucky plates pulled up right in front of us as we stood trying to keep dry for the monsoon rains. All though the rain was almost blinding, we could make out a very large black man 275-300lbs. driving and our attention and red flags went up when we could tell the female passenger, was visibly upset and crying. They sat there for approx ten minutes, then the driver got out. We inquired if we could help him? He ignored us and walked up to the guard shack in front of entrance of abortion mill. The girl sat crying as we gently pleaded with her and offered her help. The guard looked over and we could hear death camp guard Tonya Thomas yell at the driver, “she has to come up here”. The driver walked back to the car and got inside and his face was very upset as he was yelling at the female passenger. It was obvious the female did not want to go in and kept crying. All the sudden in front of us the heavy set male, threw a punch in the girl’s face . The driver hit her again with his large fist. More blood flowed down her face. We yelled at the assailant loud and clear, to ‘Stop it, we were calling the police”. The passenger was hysterical, we begged her to get out of the car , “we will help you”. The male then started the car as we were on the phone speaking with Granite City police and reporting the assault we just witnessed. We got the car plate as the man tore off the parking lot in the deluge of rain.
Granite City police pulled up to the abortion mill entrance and went up to the death camp guard who reportedly didn’t see anything , the police came over to us and we gave them the information and license plate of the car. This was obviously a forced abortion of a young girl who didn’t want one. Now, do you think this young girl had a choice in the matter? No, she was being forced to kill her baby. We kept praying and contacting law enforcement with the brutal assault we witnessed minutes earlier. Daniel even drove around looking for the car, to no avail. But state officials had the license plate and description of the assailant and victim. We put out a prayer alert to prayer warriors. God was still on the throne and in control. Our hearts were heavy as night drew closer and no word. We dreaded the next morning and a chance we would be confronting the car and driver again outside the abortion mill, possibly. Finally, morning came and we arrived and quickly set up our pregnancy outreach outside the abortion mill in Granite City. As the morning wore on we kept praising God and praying for the mother and baby. When we returned home, we received word that the Kentucky male assailant was caught and the mother and unborn baby were safe. Praise God! Chills and tears as we rejoiced with the good news and update. We thanked law enforcement for all their help and cooperation. But especially the Lord. We could not do anything with out His grace and provision. He works through our efforts and we give Him all the glory, in our vital work for the born and the unborn.
