“From the lips of infants and children You have ordained praise.” Psalm 8:2
A mother is all those wonderful things you never outgrow.
She makes a difference in so many lovely ways, the care, patience she sows through her daily toils. From morning to night through childhood ills, spills, and family drills with unseen wings she multitasks through it all without complaint in her gentle words of praise, or her boo-boo kisses and in the echo of her wise advice; in the sense of family closeness and belonging that she gives; in the caring life she lives she is the gardener planting the seeds of faith, truth, and love that bloom into flowers of character, virtue, happiness. A mother makes a difference in the way she loves her children, in ways that others see, in ways only that her children and family know. In her hands the touch of comfort, in her heart the gift of sharing. When she leaves the porch light on or picks your clothes up for the umpteenth time, or tapes homemade decorations to the refrigerator door, so many you cannot find the handle. She lives a life of dedicated service, minus combat pay. In loving us, believing in us, fighting for us, praying for us A mother knows, as she tenderly holds a newborn and gazes in the face of hope, that her child is destined for great things and full of endless possibilities. A mother is love, no matter when, no matter where, no matter what.
Lord, thank You for the wealth of love and joy You have given me. Thank You for revealing to my heart the preciousness of this time in my life.
Happy Mother’s Day!
