The testimony that you are about to read comes from a dear friend who has been faithful in her walk with the Lord and to the babies. This faithful witness was at the epicenter of the recent quaking in Wichita , Kansas . As you can imagine, we are still feeling the shockwaves of George Tiller’s sudden death. We are rejoicing in the Lord that his family chose to permanently close this infamous house of horrors where so many innocent lives were taken, and lives were wounded. Reportedly, the majority of local townsfolk in checkout lanes are not shedding any tears with the abortionist’s demise. Just the opposite, people are finally talking… The veil of oppression has been lifted off this city.
2 Corinthians 10:3 “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.” With the right spirit and mind, we have the victory and strongholds fall. We can always stand on God’s Word; it never comes back void. “The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked goes out.” Proverbs 13:9

As I stepped onto the plane with my six week old son and good friend Carole Novielli, heading for Wichita , Kansas the summer of 1991, I never realized how much my life would be changed.
Repentance and revival were truly in the streets. It was amazing to see so many people broken, standing up and laying down their lives for those human beings who have had their personhood stripped away from them.
But what was so different about this particular abortion center? I had been to many rescues prior to this and seen similar things…why would this affect me in such a different way?
It was the smoke and ashes that came billowing out of the incinerator which left me broken. I could actually smell the remains of the children. I wept; their little lives became so real to me. I realized at that moment that this was much more than a cause or a ministry, but that a segment of society was being denied their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This segment of society was selectively weeded out and their remains were burning up right before my very eyes!
As I flew back home to Florida , I never realized how etched the incinerator at George Tiller’s obituary would stay with me.
Ten years later as our family prayed about where God really wanted us to be, Wichita is where HE had us to go. Planning for the anniversary of the Summer of Mercy renewal was underway, and as Rusty Thomas so eloquently told us, “If you want to get back into the frying pan, Wichita is where you want to go!” We went!
The first week we were here, the billows of smoke once again poured out the ashes of the children that had died there that week. Months later the incinerator was actually pouring not just ashes, but little pieces of the babies. Another time we had to wipe the windows of our cars off, because they were covered so with the ashes of the little children. We were broken, and knew we had made the right decision.
Almost nine years later, we are still in Wichita .
After years of standing along with others at the gates of George Tiller’s obituary offering help to the women entering in, offering one last ditch effort to the innocent little child, exposing the evil (Ephesians 5:10), praying, singing, reading scripture, and praying that this center would close, we saw it happen this past week. But, even though we prayed fervently for the closure, it certainly didn’t come in a way we thought or wanted it to happen.
The family of George Tiller has announced that the clinic will remain closed permanently. For that we are so thankful, and that is an answer to many, many years of prayers of many, many faithful gentle warriors.
This past Tuesday, it was a strange feeling not going out, as this was the day he usually began his late term abortions. Week after week we would all be there to greet the women that would come from all over the U.S. and abroad, sometimes up to the day of delivery. We would plead with them to please go next door to Choices Medical center and get a free sonogram; we would beg them to not go through with it, to please let the baby live. Many of us have cried many tears along with much joy when a woman would change her mind and let her child continue to grow. I’m so extremely grateful and thankful to the Lord that on Bleckley and Kellogg this past Tuesday this did not happen!
Please join us in prayer that this abortion center will truly remain permanently closed. And remember, no matter wherever you are, don’t ever give up praying. May we all remain steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. For this we press forward!Luke 17:10.
